Brueghel. The Spirit of Collecting grew out of an encounter between Brun Fine Art and De Jonckheere, two galleries with distinct histories and areas of expertise: De Jonckheere's longstanding expertise in Flemish painting meets Brun Fine Art's research on sculpture and the decorative arts. Paintings by Pieter Brueghel the Younger, Jan Brueghel the Elder and the Younger, Pieter Brueghel III, David Teniers the Younger, Frans Francken the Younger and Jan van Kessel the Younger are shown alongside sculptures and works of art, from Giovanni della Robbia to Trapani coral, Florentine commesso panels and Gdansk amber. The
reference to the Wunderkammer evokes the freedom to bring together works of different periods, materials and traditions. With
essays by Carlotta Striolo and Enrico Colle and 36 catalogue entries.
