Brun Fine Art, in collaboration with BABS Art Gallery and Unløck decoding art, presents “VANITAS” in the spaces of Via Gesù 17 in Milan.
The exhibition aims to destabilize the traditional perception of Vanitas, demonstrating how art and beauty can find new forms of immortality in a contemporary key.
The term Vanitas, from the Latin word “vanus,” means “empty” or “ephemeral,” and in the artistic tradition is closely linked to meditation on the fragility of the human condition, the transience of material goods and the ineluctable passing of time.
In this exhibition context, the concept of Vanitas is reinterpreted through the juxtaposition of sculptural works, representing the ideal of immortal beauty, with artist's jewelry, a modern and individual manifestation of our time. A dialogue that offers the public a unique experience, inviting reflection on the mutability of aesthetic canons and personal identity. The presence of classical mirrors, which have always been associated with the Vanitas theme, leads visitors to confront their own image, in a tight play of reflections.
