    A 17th - 18th century Sicilian Trapani icona. The carved coral on a gilt metal ground depicting the Virgin Mary flanked by two Saints beneath God the Father with angelic musicians within a Baroque recessionary perspective.

    Provenance

    Acquired presumably in the 19th century by the Tunstall-Moores/Macartney-Filgate families of Stedalt, Co Meath and Lowther Lodge, Dublin, Republic of Ireland and by descent to their granddaughter and former owner, the Marchesa Antonia Lanza d’Ajeta.
